Caitlyn lives with her family on a farm near Limerick in the late sixteenth century. Caitlyn hides in an old cottage when the Redcoats come, and finds a silver ring there. Her parents are killed, so a family friend takes Caitlyn and two of her siblings on a journey to find their relatives in Wicklow. Along the way, the group finds an ancient treasure, and hides it in a new place to protect it from the English.
