Zusammenfassung

The pace is fast and furious with old-fashioned detection winning out against the forces of villainy - Daily Mail

Jim Eldridge, author of the Museum Mysteries, turns his pen to Wartime London's Underground stations.

April 1941, London. In an air raid shelter beneath Whitechapel Road, a woman's mutilated body is found, evoking grim memories of Jack the Ripper. Detective Chief Inspector Coburg and Sergeant Lampson are dispatched from Scotland Yard to investigate. In the dark tunnels, they discover a battered Victorian doctor's bag filled with surgical tools, but has it been deliberately abandoned?

As more victims emerge, the pressure mounts to solve the case quickly. But their task grows more complex when King George and Prime Minister Winston Churchill enlist their help in a separate, puzzling inquiry, one that may also lead back to the shadowy streets of Whitechapel.

Perfect for fans of Mark Ellis and T.E. Kinsey

Readers love Jim Eldridge:

'The sense of time and place created is perhaps my favourite aspect of these books, and whilst I thoroughly enjoy the mystery behind the murders, which are often very visceral, despite the cozy nature of the books, I love feeling as if I am walking alongside the characters, smelling, seeing, hearing, feeling and tasting everything they are.'

'Well-written and entertaining historical mystery.'

' I fully lost myself in from the opening chapter. Memorable characters, atmosphere galore, and masterful plotting all combine into an impeccable mystery.'

'Great story, well-paced and keeps you guessing.'

Jim Eldridge is a prolific author of series such as Cathedral Mysteries series, The Hotel Mysteries series, Museum Mysteries series and more, but each book can be read individually.

Jim Eldridge was born in central London towards the end of World War II, and survived attacks by V2 rockets on the King's Cross area where he lived. In 1971 he sold his first sitcom to the BBC and had his first book commissioned. Since then he has had more than one hundred books published, with sales of over three million copies. He lives in Kent with his wife.
