After a British merchant ship, crossing the Atlantic, encounters a burning Spanish ship, they take on three survivors, a strange chest, and horrifying rumours of madness and death. As paranoia and superstition spread throughout the crew, they begin to wonder if the rumours are true, and that what happened before... will happen once again.
Filled with tension and suspense, this story blends naval adventure, horror, and historical fantasy. Will the captain be able to keep his crew from turning on each other? And will the young maiden, who believes that the worst is yet to come, be able to prevent their journey from coming to an early end? Or are they all doomed?
