This is the third volume in the series of books tracing the evolution, development and practice of country music in Australia. Markets and Margins is particularly concerned with the machinations of the country music industry in Australia. Individual chapters provide a survey of current industry practices: analysis of sponsorship and branding within country; filmic representations of the industry; and considerations of gender politics within country music. Case-studies of Tex Morton and Ted Egan examine their role in advancing the country music industry, while various geographical margins as sites of country music production are also investigated.
