Maya's bedroom has become a "paper graveyard," a chaotic landscape of dog-eared textbooks and crumpled essays where good intentions go to die. But as the clock ticks toward midnight, the "musty, forgotten scent" of procrastination thickens, and something starts to stir within the stacks of unfinished assignments. The Homework Hunter, a shadowy, papery entity that feeds on impending deadlines, is stalking her. Maya must find a way to finish her work, or be consumed by the very tasks she tried so hard to avoid.
