| Daisy Powell is Associate Professor in the Psychology of Written Language at the University of Reading's Institute of Education, UK. Her research interests are in the cognitive and environmental factors that underlie reading development, in both monolingual English speakers and in multilingual children learning to read in more than one language. Naomi Flynn is Professor of Multilingualism at the University of Reading's Institute of Education, UK. She is a teacher educator whose interests lie in literacy teaching for mono and multilingual learners in mainstream classrooms. Her research is focussed on bringing successful USA practice for multilingual learners to the UK. Holly Joseph is Professor of Language and Literacy Development at the University of Reading's Institute of Education, UK. Her research interests are in reading development and difficulties and much of her research has used eye movements during reading to understand the cognitive processes that underlie reading behaviour. Pelusa Orellana García is Professor of Reading at the School of Education, Universidad de los Andes, Chile. She teaches reading methods courses in teacher education programs and is the director of CIIL Uandes, the Center for Research and Innovation in Reading. Her research is focused on reading assessment, reading motivation, and reading instruction. Wayne Slater is Associate Professor in education at the University of Maryland, USA. His research is in literacy and has appeared in the Journal of Educational Psychology, Reading Research Quarterly, Research in the Teaching of English, and Reading & Writing Quarterly. He chairs the AERA SIG Research in Reading and Literacy. |
