Rami K. Isaac has more than 22 years of experience in tourism studies. Born in Palestine, he completed his undergraduate studies in the Netherlands, his graduate studies in the UK, and earned his PhD in Spatial Sciences from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. He is currently an associate professor at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality at Bethlehem University, Palestine, and at Breda University of Applied Sciences. He was the former President of the Research Committee 50 on International Tourism, International Sociologist Association (2014-2018), and currently, he is the Vice-President of RC50 Tourism (2018-2027). His research interests are in the area of tourism development and management, cultural heritage/dark tourism, and political aspects of tourism. He has co-authored more than 150 scientific papers, book chapters, and edited volumes on tourism and political (in)stability, tourism interventions, safety and security, occupation, tourism and war, violence, and transformational tourism.

Andrew Ngawenja Mzembe, is a Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Hotel and Facility Management of Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and a Senior Research Associate at the School of Tourism and Hospitality, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Mzembe's research is at the intersection of business ethics, hospitality, tourism, entrepreneurship, innovation, corporate social responsibility, governance, and sustainability transitions. His research work has appeared in international scientific journals and several edited books. He has co-authored a book entitled Rethinking Sustainability in Facilities and Workplace Management (with Melissen,
F., Smit, B., and Danivska, V.).
