Tim Muehlhoff (PhD, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) is a professor of communication at Biola University in La Mirada, California, where he teaches classes in conflict resolution, apologetics, gender, and family communication. He is codirector of Biola's Winsome Conviction Project, which seeks to reintroduce compassion and civility into our disagreements. Perry L. Glanzer is a professor of educational foundations at Baylor University and a resident scholar with the Baylor Institute for Studies of Religion. He has coauthored, authored, or edited seventeen books, including, most recently, Unleashing the Image of God: Discovering Your Identity, Purpose, Vocation, and Character. In addition, he has written or cowritten over 140 journal articles and book chapters on topics related to moral education, faith-based higher education, and the relationship between religion and education. He is currently editor-in-chief of Christian Scholar's Review and edits the Christ Animating Learning blog.

Rick Langer is not only one of the editors of this book, but for twenty years he has also served as a professor of biblical studies and theology at Biola University in La Mirada, California. Rick specializes in the integration of faith and learning and has published in the areas of bioethics, theology, and philosophy. His thoughts about the biblical call to gentleness were fine-tuned not only in the classroom but also in the church, where he was a pastor for twenty years. He knows firsthand the challenges of calling both students and church members to gentleness, even when we feel like we want to be anything but gentle.
