Fluent in Japanese, she has spent decades exploring the country’s folklore, myths, legends, superstitions, and strange tales, which she shares on her popular podcast Uncanny Japan. She is the author of The Book of Japanese Folklore, Legends of Japanese Mythology, and the short story collections A Robe of Feathers and Other Stories and The Carp-Faced Boy and Other Tales.
