Cobalt Balski has been serving his sentence alone on the prison moon for over two years. Or so he thought. Starved for human contact, aside from his supply drop every 38 days, he spends his days checking for activity from the one source of communication he has?a radio. Bored, he starts scanning through the channels and calling out, desperate for signs of life, when he gets a response.

Anyone caught speaking out against the Coalition was made an example of and punished, and with Valerie Shimmins being one of the leaders of the CAC, the anti-coalition group, it's no surprise she also ended up sentenced to one of the prison moons. She's shocked to hear another prisoner calling out on the radio. During their frequent communications, the two begin noticing too many similarities in their circumstances, and questions arise. Could they be closer than they thought?

When the supply drops start getting further apart, the news they receive about Earth is also concerning. The Coalition is in hiding, and Cobalt and Val figure it's only a matter of time before the shipments stop altogether.

The CAC needs leaders for a revolution, to prove the Coalition are liars and manipulators, and to take down the oppressors once and for all. Cobalt and Val are willing to put their lives on the line for that cause.

But first they have to find their way off the moon before they're forgotten and left for dead.
