A Pavia, sotto le strade percorse ogni giorno da studenti, cittadini e turisti, si nasconde una metropolitana segreta: la "linea ombra".
Pandora, un androide-contabile guidato da un'etica incorruttibile, scopre l'esistenza di Mnemosyne, una gigantesca talpa meccanica senziente che scava gallerie e trasforma il materiale estratto in cariatidi scolpite a immagine di grandi figure femminili della storia, tra cui Ipazia, Saffo, Hatshepsut, Cleopatra e Tanaquil.
Il percorso sotterraneo collega quattro luoghi simbolici della città, il Castello Visconteo, il Duomo, l'Università e la Certosa, dando vita a un viaggio iniziatico attraverso la memoria, la conoscenza e il sapere.
Ma Marino Fiume tenta di impadronirsi del progetto e di piegarlo ai propri interessi di potere e corruzione. Sarà Pandora a opporsi, difendendo il significato più autentico dell'opera di Mnemosyne.
Ambientato tra fantascienza e fantasy urbano, "Mnemosyne" è un racconto sull'amore, sulla memoria e su ciò che l'umanità sceglie di tramandare.
Beneath the streets of Pavia, travelled every day by students, residents and visitors, lies a secret underground railway known as the "Shadow Line".
Pandora, an android accountant guided by an incorruptible moral code, discovers Mnemosyne, a gigantic sentient tunnel-boring machine. As Mnemosyne excavates the tunnels, she transforms the displaced earth into sculpted caryatids representing remarkable women from history, including Hypatia, Sappho, Hatshepsut, Cleopatra and Tanaquil.
The underground route connects four symbolic landmarks of the city: the Visconti Castle, the Cathedral, the University and the Certosa. Together, they form an initiatory journey through memory, knowledge and the preservation of human experience.
But Marino Fiume seeks to seize the project and exploit it for power and corruption. Pandora must stand against him, defending the deeper meaning of Mnemosyne's extraordinary work.
