Dr Mya-Rose Craig is a 23-year-old British-Bangladeshi ornithologist, environmentalist, diversity activist, author, speaker and broadcaster. Aged 11 she began her Birdgirl blog, and aged 17 she became the youngest person to see half of all bird species. Since 2020 she has co-hosted the award-winningGet Birdingpodcast with actor Sean Bean and is the author of two previous books:We Have a Dream(Magic Cat, 2021) andBirdgirl(Jonathan Cape, 2022).
Mya-Rose has appeared across TV and radio, includingSpringwatch,The One Show,Women's Hourand theJeremy Vineshow, and has written forThe Times,Guardianand more. She has spoken at Hay Festival and has shared stages with Greta Thunberg, Emma Watson, Malala Yousafzai, Billie Eilish and Chris Packham. As well as this, she holds positions at organisations including Greenpeace, RSPB and The Wildlife Trust and has advised many high-profile MPs.
